Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) Review Schedule

Submission of the Recombinant DNA Registration Form and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) Review Dates

All Recombinant DNA Registration Forms will be reviewed following the schedule outlined below. Registration forms received on or before the submission date will be reviewed at the next IBC meeting. All registration forms submitted after the due date will be held to the following month for review. Approval/disapproval or requests for additional information will be sent to the Principal Investigator in writing following the IBC meeting.

Registration forms will be pre-screened by the IBC administrator prior to full IBC review. A lab audit will also be required as part of the review process for all work that is biosafety level 2 (BSL-2) or above. After the registration form has been submitted, the Biosafety Officer will contact the Principal Investigator to arrange a time for the lab audit.
