Storm Water
Storm water from rain, snow, and sleet travels down gutters into the storm drain, and then DIRECTLY into our rivers, lakes, and streams. Everything storm water collects from the land surface, roadways, sidewalks, parking lots, construction sites, etc., ends up in our local rivers and streams UNTREATED. It is estimated that more than 50% of the pollution in our nations waterways comes not from industrial discharges, but from storm water runoff. What can you do? Never put anything in a storm drain. Wash your car on the lawn or at a car wash. Maintain your vehicle to avoid drips and leaks.
